Hi, I'm Nic Appleby, software engineer, boardrider, photographer, human. This page serves as a little portfolio of some of my work and interests, and to tell you, the avid reader, a little bit about me.

I make a living developing some pretty interesting web applications at the Free Software Innovation Unit, an AVOIR partner. I also do some freelance work and consulting. I have a strong interest in web technologies, and enjoy tinkering with my own creations whenever possible.

I'm a Cape Town local, I love photography and riding just about any kind of board on land or on water (except the kneeboard). I'm a music fanatic and love nearly all genres, particularly hardcore, metal, electro and psychadelic trance. I help run Ghosthunter Bookings which aims to promote the local hardcore and metal bands and scene by organising events and managing bands.
